Credit Card Payments Can Now be made in the office (Phone payments not accepted)

The Town of Chautauqua offers the convenience of accepting MasterCard, Discover, American Express and Visa credit cards for Building Permit Fees. The payment processing company charges a convenience fee of 2.45% or $3.00 minimum to cardholders who use this service.

*Please note* completed permit application must be submitted before payment accepted.

Zoning Board of Appeals
Chairman: Troy Smith
The Zoning Board meets once a month.  A Building Permit application must first be submitted for review by the Code Officer, Jeff Paddock.  IF a Variance/SUP is required The matter will then be referred to the ZBA and applicant will be notified of additional information that is required which must be  submitted 2 wks prior to meeting date.

PLEASE BE ADVISED
No matter will be referred to the Zoning Board without going through the following Review process FIRST.


To better serve the community & for the fair, efficient processing of
ALL Building Permits Please note the following:
-Only Complete applications will be accepted for review.  This includes Paid Permit fees, site plan, drawings, material list and Proof of insurance for contractor listed on the application(Liability, Worker's Comp., Disability and/or Exemptions). Questions will be addressed during review. All “pending” applications or delayed start dates will be returned after 1yr in which a new application will have to be submitted and reviewed.

-Plans and applications will be stamped in and reviewed in the order they are received. 
Please allow 2 weeks for the completed review before calling.

-Once project is approved & Permit is issued, you will be contacted by our office to pick up your permit

NO WORK SHALL BE STARTED
until permit is properly displayed at the site.
Permit is not valid until signed by applicant, owner or representative of either.

Our goal is to expedite your application as quickly and efficiently as possible.
