Dog Control
All Dogs within the Town of Chautauqua must be licensed by 4mos of age and must be renewed annually
Current rabies vaccination must be shown at time of licensing
The annual cost of licensing is $13.00 for unaltered dogs or $5.00 with proof of spay/neuter certificate.

MULTIPLE YEAR LICENSING Now Available!
You may now renew your dog license to coincide with your rabies vaccination.  When you obtain a 3 yr rabies vaccination you may now renew/extend your license up to the rabies expiration date.  Contact the Tow Clerk for more details.

Please note- All dogs must be on a leash or confined to your property for the safety and welfare of our community and neighboring properties. A Dog Census will be conducted by the Town. Please have proof of your current license available. Any dog found unlicensed during the census are subject to fines.

Dogs Running at large: If your dog is picked up by our Dog Control Officer it will be taken to Chautauqua County Humane Society on Strunk Rd. In order to redeem, you must come in to the Town Clerk's office to pay the animal transport fee and take a copy with you to the Humane Society with proof of current license and rabies vaccination. 
Additional boarding fees will apply at the Humane society.  Please contact them prior to pick-up. 
Dogs are held for 5 days.  If there is no contact made by the owner, dog will be placed for adoption.
